Our children face so many challenges – mental health, poverty and the anxiety caused by climate change and war. They deserve to be surrounded by people who understand the importance of empathy and model it in their actions.
Empathy is learnable. Every child should have the chance to develop this crucial life skill, which underpins the relationships they need to thrive. They will become the empathetic citizens of the future, making a difference in the world.
Teacher Kate Clarke explains the difference we can make to children and communities when they take part in our empathy education programme.
The programme teaches children what empathy is and why it's so important; immerses them in empathy-boosting reading; builds key empathy skills such as perspective-taking and listening and inspires them to put empathy into action.
